"William M. Shaver, second son of Philip was born Dec. 11, 1826 in Cambria, N.Y. After the death of his father in 1828 the family moved to the Ancaster/Burford area.
In the 1851 census he is listed as living with his cousin Hamilton Shaver in Burford Twp.
On May 15, 1852, he married Ethalinda M. Cole, daughter of Nicholas and Ann (Rickert) Cole, Mennonites of Burford. There they raised 10 children. Ethalinda died in 1888.
William lived to be 82 and died on Feb. 27, 1909.
Both are buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Burford."
