Since a snowy February we have been organizing a web site for the family members of the Shavers of Ancaster. As of this moment the site has gone live. The site is open to the general pubic. However, if you are a descendant of John Shaver (1739-1795) you are welcome to request an account to the site so you can share information and interact with other members. Use the link in the left navigation panel “Create new account” to do just that.

The site has two major modules: Reunion and History. Reunion is used to cover organizational information about the group. This includes events (past and upcoming), newsletters, general information and this bulletin board. The History module is where we post genealogical, geographic and historical events related to the Shaver family. Over time I expect this to be large resource of Shaver Family information.

Upon us going live you will not be overwhelmed with a large collection of historical records, but with help from all members it will be interesting to see how the site grows. In addition, members can contribute to the discussion forums, placing numerous types of queries. Use the General forum or the Contact us page to suggest new forums.

Special thank you to all of those on the executive. Though I can navigate my way around a keyboard to publish this site, it is our executive members who helped make this site happen.

So sign up and join us. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments feel free to use the Contact Us tab (available on every page).
