Shavers of Ancaster

The Executive Committee met earlier this month and at that time decided to not hold a reunion this June. We had a couple of resignations earlier this year including our newsletter editor, and some other members of the committee are currently sidelined with personal distractions. Given that we realized that the effort required in getting the newsletter out on time and organizing and holding the reunion this spring was beyond the capabilities of the remaining volunteers. We passed a motion to instead hold the reunion at a minimum of every other year, including a special celebration in 2017 for the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the 1937 reunion. We are going to focus our efforts on less frequent but more special celebrations. In the coming months, once the sidelined committee members become available again, we will put together an abbreviated newsletter to notify everybody of these developments and update everyone on the past year’s activities. We will also start planning for the 2013 reunion so please let us know if you have ideas of new or different activities to make the event great!
