"The oldest of the children of John was born in New Jersey on March 12 (?), 1767. He never married or farmed on his own. For the whole of his life he lived with other members of the Shaver family. He lived with his stepmother Magdalene during her life and after that with his nephew Frederick on Lot 35/3. John lived to be the oldest of his generation. He died Dec. 20, 1852 at the age of 85 years and 9 months. He too was buried in the William Shaver family cemetery."
